Topic Summary
This activity is one of three modules that form the Allergy management in general practice masterclass.
Part 1 of this masterclass covers three key areas. First, allergy testing explained in practical terms for GPs. This is a topic area for which there is a lot of confusion about when allergy tests should be used and which tests are suitable in various clinical scenarios. Second, allergic rhinosinusitis, a very common allergy presentation which has substantial impacts on quality of life and yet is often suboptimally treated. Finally, resources for patients with various kinds of allergic conditions. ASCIA has developed a comprehensive range of useful resources that are often overlooked by many allergy patients and GPs, yet they would find them highly beneficial.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate an improved understanding of when and how to use appropriate allergy tests
- Develop an increased ability to recognise and manage allergic rhinosinusitis
- Develop an increased awareness of ASCIA resources for patients with allergy
CPD and Accreditation
This activity is accredited with the RACGP and ACRRM for 1.5 hours in the Educational Activities (EA) category.
