Dr Philip Lee is a Respiratory and Sleep physician. He graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales and completed his specialist training at St Vincent’s and St George Hospitals. He is a consultant in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at St George and Northern Beaches Hospitals. He has specific clinical and research interest in sleep medicine, COPD, respiratory failure and non-invasive ventilation.
Dr Lee has extensive experience in managing sleep disorders with a diverse range of clinical expertise in various Respiratory diseases. Dr Lee has received local and international awards for his research work with continuing research interests in COPD, respiratory failure and non-invasive ventilation.
He is also an expert advisor for Research Review Australia in COPD and has been an invited speaker at various local Respiratory and Sleep symposiums.
In 2016, Dr Lee has received the ST George Individual Volunteer Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the community.
Dr Lee is multi-lingual with proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Dr Merlin Thomas MBChB, PhD, FRACP is a Professor of Medicine at Monash University, Melbourne. Professor Thomas is both a physician and a research scientist. He has published over 300 articles in many of the world’s leading medical journals, as well as several books including The Longevity List and Fast Living, Slow Ageing. He is internationally recognized as a speaker, opinion-leader, teacher and medical storyteller. His research focuses on discovering new ways to prevent and treat the complications of diabetes.

Clinical A/Prof Pradeep Jayasuriya is the principal of a small independent general practice in the Perth metropolitan area for the last 20 years. As a past Director of Research for the RACGP in WA, he has contributed to guideline initiatives including those for chronic disease self management and preventive activities in general practice. More recent initiatives have included the development of a community based iron infusion facility in collaboration with a Medicare Local and a related educational activity for primary care health professionals.
Professor Robert McLachlan AM is a physician-scientist and Principal Research Fellow with a programme of basic and clinical research in male reproductive health. He joined the Prince Henry’s Institute, now Hudson Institute of Medical Research, in 1983. He is Medical Director at Healthy Male and Deputy Director of Endocrinology at Monash Medical Centre, Consultant Andrologist to the Monash IVF program, consultant to the WHO and is the Director of Andrology Australia, a Federal Government initiative committed to research and community & professional education in male reproductive health. Prof McLachlan has made major contributions to scientific discovery, translation into clinical practice and education in male reproductive health. His particular interests are male fertility regulation, the genetics of male infertility and androgen physiology.
An experienced clinician, John is known globally for his breadth of clinical research into obesity and its complications as well as weight loss treatments and their effects on health. He rates in the top researchers worldwide in the fields of obesity; weight loss; morbid obesity; and bariatric surgery (expertscape.com). He has over 300 original research, review and guideline publications.
Focused on seeing findings translated into clinical practice and on patient advocacy for the obese, John is involved in a wide range of organizations both in Australia and internationally.
Prof Ego Seeman has worked in the field of bone biology for 35 years and is the Past President of the ANZBMS. His work has been recognised by many awards including the Member Order of Australia 2016.
