In this episode:

  • RSV is a very important cause of disease for young children and older adults in winter season (May – September)
  • Understand the natural course of the disease, and advice to give parents
  • Transmission can be reduced with general hygiene and non-pharmaceutical measures, which are used for other respiratory viruses
  • It’s important to be aware of newer prevention strategies, namely vaccines, being available in the next 12-24 months and maximise their use
